In fact, lord Krishna in  Indian mythology has been depicted playing the flute as his favourite musical instrument. Therefore, this is a truly traditional instrument, with an ability to adapt even to modern varied musical demands. This makes the flute one of the most desirable instruments to be learnt (of course, of course; guitars and others are in high demand).
